They must have hit it off pretty well to have exchanged numbers and be texting each other mere hours after they met. I apologized for appearing to be jealous and we headed off to bed. I then did some quick damage control and smoothed it over for the most part. Her: 'What the fuck? I find someone I connect with and you get all jealous?'
I got a little bit annoyed, because usually when we're chillin' in the back, it's our time to share our days with each other and have a little bit of intimate time. The only thing different from other nights when we do this is that she's clearly having a text conversation on her phone with someone. We each grab a beer and go into the backyard to drink it and chit-chat before we turn in for the night. She's in a great mood and by all accounts the event went well. She comes home from one of these things pretty late, and all is good. I know she loves me and she's never given any reason not to trust her, until last night.
Anyway, one thing she does to help out is dress up all pretty and go to these business networking mixer-things and hand out literature and business cards and generally just schmooze.
So here's what's happening: My girlfriend of two years is helping her mother start up a business, the nature of which is not important to this discussion.
